How Big is the GTA 6 Leonida Map?
As we edge closer to the November 19, 2026 release of Grand Theft Auto VI, community cartographers have been working overtime. Here is what we know about the scale of Vice City and the surrounding state of Leonida.

A State, Not Just a City
Unlike GTA: Vice City (2002) which constrained players to a few islands, GTA VI features the entire state of Leonida. Rockstar's official statements and trailer footage show a massive landmass that encompasses modern-day Miami (Vice City), the Florida Keys (Kelly County), and stretches far north into rural, swampy, and forested territories.
Estimated Scale
Current community mapping projects, which use the trailer's engine coordinates and real-world photogrammetry comparisons, estimate the landmass of Leonida to be roughly 1.5x to 2x larger than GTA V's Los Santos and Blaine County combined.

Verticality and Density
Size isn't just about square mileage. The density shown in the 2026 promotional materials indicates a massive leap in verticality. We are seeing fully modeled building interiors, massive high-rise hotels along Vice Beach with accessible balconies, and highly congested urban traffic zones that make the world feel physically larger to navigate.
Diverse Biomes
Based on the footage, we can confirm several distinct ecological zones:
- Vice City Metro: The neon-soaked urban sprawl, featuring distinct districts like Downtown, Vice Beach, and Little Haiti.
- The Everglades (Grassrivers): A massive swamp network requiring airboats, filled with wildlife (and danger).
- Port Gellhorn: An industrial/shipping zone located further up the coast.
- Kelly County: Rural, backwoods areas likely representing the central/northern parts of Florida.
